Derrick Carpenter serves as executive vice president of integrated payments, digital commerce & marketing at Bank of America Merchant Services. In this role, Carpenter manages all aspects of the company’s integrated payments strategy, which entails forging partnerships with third-party companies to integrate Bank of America Merchant Services’ payments capabilities into innovative software solutions for businesses. He also provides oversight of the teams responsible for Bank of America Merchant Services’ digital channels, including the company’s website and social media channels, and the company’s marketing and communications functions.
Carpenter joined Bank of America Merchant Services in 2011 from Walmart, where he was the director of payment services with responsibility for the company’s gift card program, electronic government benefits and international financial services. Prior to that, he handled sales and marketing for Marathon Global, a solutions provider to Walmart and Sam’s Club suppliers. He began his career as a senior project manager at Walmart.
Carpenter graduated from Emporia State University with a degree in computer information systems and earned his MBA from Webster University. He lives in Lenexa, Kansas.
