Tom Fontana serves as executive vice president and chief risk officer at Bank of America Merchant Services, where he manages an enterprise-wide team focused on credit underwriting, fraud, loss provisioning and reserves, compliance and regulatory policy, information security, card brand compliance, and third-party risk management. Tom previously spent two decades at Citigroup in a variety of risk, credit and sales roles.
Before joining Citibank in 1989, Tom worked as a bank examiner and supervisory financial analyst for the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, where he evaluated the credit risk, interest rates, and savings and loans at member institutions.
Tom graduated from Hofstra University and earned his MBA from Adelphi University. He lives in New Jersey.
